General FAQ

Q: What industries does APS serve?

A: APS serves a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, automotive, pharmaceuticals, food processing, chemical, packaging and more. We provide tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of each industry, with dust and fume extraction systems to suit all.

Q: How do I know if I need a dust or fume extraction system?

A: If your work environment produces dust, fumes, or other airborne contaminants, an LEV extraction system is likely essential to ensure a safe and healthy workplace. We can conduct an assessment to determine the best solution for your needs, taking into account the industry you operate in and your individual requirements.

Q: Can APS provide a complete dust and fume extraction solution?

A: Yes, we offer complete solutions, from initial consultation and design to installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance. Our engineers will work with you to create the specific machine and/or solution you need to adhere to strict health and safety regulations.

Q: Will APS provide a design for an LEV system?

APS will provide a bespoke dust or fume extraction system design to meet whatever requirements you have, including regulatory requirements such as COSHH and DSEAR. Throughout the design process we will consult and advise on the best budget, timeline and installation process.

Q: Does APS install dust or fume extraction systems?

Yes! APS installs dust and fume extraction systems. After the initial consultation, APS will provide a written quotation outlining the project, and agree a bespoke design which works for you. Our competent and trained engineers will then be on hand to complete the full installation, and walk you through the operating process.

Dust and Fume Extraction

Q: What types of dust and fume extraction systems do you provide?

A: APS offers various dust and fume extraction systems, including portable, fixed, high-vacuum, and low-vacuum systems, designed to handle everything from light dust to hazardous fumes.

Q: How do I ensure my extraction system remains compliant with health and safety regulations?

A: Regular maintenance and testing, including Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) testing, help ensure compliance. APS provides services to maintain your system’s performance and compliance with all relevant regulations. You can find more about what different regulations, like COSHH and DSEAR mean for you here.

Q: How often should dust and fume extraction systems be serviced?

A: Generally, LEV systems should be inspected and serviced at least annually, though high-usage environments may require more frequent checks. Our team can advise on the best schedule for your specific system.
