Meet Julie Kendall, Sales Support Administrator ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of APS

In the latest edition of our meet the team series, we’re speaking to Julie Kendall, our Sales Support Administrator about the experience she brings to APS, and the vital role she plays on a day-to-day basis.
What is your job role at APS, and what are your main responsibilities?
I’m a Sales Support Administrator and Receptionist, providing day-to-day support to help the APS sales and office team to deliver our dust extraction solutions across the UK. I collect and track leads coming in from our marketing team, ensuring they’re distributed to the right members of our sales team who then follow up with potential customers.
How many years of experience do you have working within dust and fume extraction?
I have 12 years of experience working within the dust and fume extraction industry, having previously worked for Camfil UK in a similar role.
I have a knack of being able to talk to anyone on the phone, and I see myself as a real “social bean”, which helps in this job where the topic can sometimes be complex!
Outside of dust and fume extraction, I have a degree in Hotel Management, which has given me transferable skills in communication, leadership, and problem-solving, as well as knowledge of health and safety compliance.
What’s your proudest career and personal achievement to date?
Career-wise, I would say working for APS! I love this job, and the talented team I get to work with day-in day-out. Whether we’re working with a new customer on a new LEV system, or organising maintenance for an existing system, we go into every day knowing that we can make a real difference to manufacturing companies across the UK.
Personally, my biggest achievement is my twins, who are now 20 years old!
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Too many choices as I love food, but the meal would end with a (calorie free) chocolate cake.
What gets you up in the morning (other than an alarm clock)?
The cat walking over me!
Any other notable hobbies/facts about you?
I smile and laugh a lot, which is useful in a customer-facing role like mine!
