Reporting to the Project Manager, our Lead Installation Engineer role is central to delivering high-quality dust and fume extraction solutions for our customers across the UK.

You’ll bring strong assembly and installation experience, comprehensive knowledge of testing and maintenance, and safety expertise to seamlessly deliver projects working as part of a team.

Summary of role:

The Lead Installation Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the installation and maintenance of LEV systems, extraction systems and dust collectors, supervising a team of engineers.

This position will feature site travel across the UK as and when required.

What you’ll be doing:

Assembling, positioning, and installing various ductwork systems (rectangular, circular, flat oval, plastic, fire-rated, local exhaust ventilation) and associated equipment (fans, air handling units) according to engineering drawings and industry standards

Conducting ductwork leakage and performance testing to verify proper operation and compliance with design specifications and relevant air quality regulations, as required

Performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on existing dust and fume control systems, including filter changes and identifying and fixing faults

Planning and organising work tasks, preparing work areas, taking accurate site measurements for custom fabrication, and ensuring work programmes are delivered on time

Diligently following all safety legislation, codes of practice, and site-specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others

Liaising effectively with project managers, clients, and other tradespeople (e.g., electricians) to ensure seamless project delivery, and troubleshooting on-site problems

Man conducts LEV testing and LEV service

What we’re looking for:

Positive attitude, and a desire to contribute as part of a team

Strong people skills

Proficiency with hand and power tools, ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical schematics, and knowledge of engineering principles related to ventilation and air flow

Strong understanding of industrial ventilation and air handling systems, relevant safety legislation, and quality control standards

The ability to lift heavy components, work at heights or in confined spaces, and bend or kneel as needed

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose system issues and implement effective solutions

Desirables and essentials:

A relevant NVQ (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Heating and Ventilating Ductwork Installation)

A valid CSCS

IPAF and PASMA certifications for working at height

Essential: A full, clean driving licence
