Project Engineer

We have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our projects team in a full-time permanent position.

This is an office based job at our office in Escrick, on the outskirts of York. Onsite parking is available.

The right candidate will have experience of using Solidworks or Inventor with good problem-solving and communication skills.

The Project Engineer will be an integral part of the projects team, producing high quality technical drawings for our clients’ approval and be responsible for the smooth running of the project.

The main duties are:

· Carrying out site surveys, gathering accurate measurements for creating full design assembly drawing

· Creating full drawing packs

· Generating full RAMS

· The procurement of project resources, materials and equipment.

· Co-ordinating clients, suppliers, freight companies, installation teams etc. on multiple projects

· Managing own workload

· Design projects in relation to dust/fume control systems and pneumatic conveying systems.

· Provide engineering designs, specifications and documentation to BSI and ISO standards.

· Provide technical support to clients, suppliers and other internal departments.

· Preparation of operating and maintenance manuals.

· Bringing projects in on time and in budget

The ideal candidate will:

· Be minimum HNC Qualified in Mechanical / Electro-Mechanical Engineering.

· Have extensive experience in 2D & 3D CAD software (Solidworks, AutoCAD, REVIT and Inventor)

· Be self-motivated and pro-active – with a willingness to learn technical product and manufacturing techniques.

· Generate 3D drawings using site survey measurements, this will range from a simple single room up to a full comprehensive works unit

· Be able to design bespoke parts and generate detailed fabrication drawings (usually working in sheet metal)

· Be able to generate comprehensive 3D models incorporating clients drawings, suppliers drawings and our own in-house drawings

· Be able to present all designs to clients

· Demonstratable experience/track record of producing detailed design and fabrication drawings (ideally in sheet metal)

Desirables include experience of:

· Working within a Mechanical Design role.

· Completing and checking designs and documentation.

· Tolerancing, limits and fits.

· Drawing layout and symbols.

· Drawing and document control systems.

· The use of Nastran / Ansys / Solidworks Simulations.

· Experience within the LEV Industry would be advantageous

Salary is negotiable depending upon experience.
